Our Appreciation Pyramid

At our school, we believe in recognising and celebrating positive behaviour, effort, and achievement. Our Appreciation Pyramid provides a range of rewards and recognition opportunities throughout the year, ensuring that every student has the chance to be acknowledged for their success.

Positive Points

The foundation of our Appreciation Pyramid is Positive Points. Students regularly receive positive points for demonstrating our school values and meeting expectations.

Parents and carers can view these through the ClassCharts app, which is our main method of communication regarding rewards and achievements. We may also contact families directly to share particularly positive news.

Weekly Shout Outs

Every week, students who have gone above and beyond are recognised during assemblies through our Weekly Shout Outs. Families will be informed when their child receives this recognition.

VIP Queue Jump Tickets

Every Friday, a small number of students are rewarded with VIP Queue Jump Tickets. These students can skip the lunch queue and receive free chips as a reward for their positive contribution to school life.

WHAT Week Rewards

Each term, we hold a WHAT Week, where students can earn tickets for demonstrating:

  • Honesty
  • Ambition
  • Teamwork

These tickets can be exchanged for prizes during lunchtime on the first Friday of each half term, providing an additional opportunity to celebrate students who consistently demonstrate our core values.

End of Term Rewards

On the final day of each term, students who achieve a 95% or higher positive-to-negative ratio on ClassCharts will receive a special themed reward linked to the time of year.

Golden Tickets

Students who demonstrate exceptional effort, behaviour, and commitment can earn Golden Tickets during a two-week period in the middle of each half term.

Golden Tickets are entered into prize draws held three times each year. The more tickets a student earns, the greater their chance of winning one of our larger prizes.

Awards Evening

At the top of our Appreciation Pyramid is our annual Awards Evening. Selected students are invited to attend and are recognised for their outstanding achievements, commitment, and contributions throughout the academic year.

Rewards Trips

We also celebrate success through our end-of-year rewards trips. Students who meet the required eligibility criteria are invited to take part in these exciting experiences as a reward for their positive conduct and engagement throughout the year.

Our Appreciation Pyramid ensures that students are recognised at every level, from everyday positive actions to exceptional achievements, helping to create a culture where honesty, ambition and teamwork are celebrated by all.
