All students between Year 7 to 13 have taken part in our annual ‘Reverse Advent’ calendar for the Canaan Trust. Since 2019, Wilsthorpe has been donating to the Canaan Trust, a local Long Eaton charity, who support homeless people within the community. This year, students in every tutor group brought in donations of food, clothes, and other items that were picked up on the 18th December. We are grateful to the Wilsthorpe community for their contribution and the role they have played in making someone’s Christmas a little easier this year. It was also a fantastic opportunity for our Year 8 and Year 10 leaders to work together to distribute the boxes to tutor groups, help with decorating and supporting everyone to make this year’s donations the best yet.
Last week on Friday 13th December, students and staff also took part in Christmas Jumper Day. This year, Wilsthorpe has raised £230 for Save the Children. Well done and thank you to everyone who took part in both events.
