7 wonderfully talented Wilsthorpe musicians took a trip to Hull to perform at the annual National Music for Youth Festival. 6 singers and a bass player performed three pop songs: Billie Jean (Micheal Jackson), Pure Shore (All Saints) and Don’t Ever Stop (The Boxer Rebellion) to a packed audience and received some excellent feedback from the industry professional experts, who were particularly impressed with the vocal arrangements of the songs. The students were joined by bands from other Two Counties Trust schools – Friesland School, Swanwick Hall and Heritage High School – and all had a great experience of performing in front of other schools, the public and the experts. The journey back to school, via the Humber Bridge, was equally full of music and celebration. The students have been invited to the next stage to perform at the Birmingham Fringe Festival in July, in front of an even larger audience. Good luck!
